The Burr Homestead Gardens

History’s gift in the heart of Fairfield

The Burr Homestead Gardens is the four-acre public garden behind the Burr Homestead located on the Old Post Road and near the Fairfield Museum. The historic gardens include a reflecting pond and fountain with glorious weeping cherry trees, a notable arboretum, Summer House, marble exedra and formal garden welcoming visitors to re-live history and make new memories.

Thanks to the support of the Town of Fairfield and the leadership of a small group of civic volunteers the gardens have been well-maintained. Presently, the Burr Gardens Advisory Committee (BGAC) is working to preserve the history of this special place that has been at the heart of our community for more than 250 years.

Take a walk through the Burr Gardens, follow in the footsteps of our courageous patriots and you will see that there is much to do to preserve this magnificent public space.

Please consider a tax deductible contribution that will immediately impact the work of the BGAC and improve the Burr Gardens.
